If you're looking for a fun and educational camp this summer, look no further!  Camp Urban Sol, hosted by the UDA Foundation, offers an assortment of classes to interest and excite any kid.  Your child can continue to learn over summer through hands-on activities, experiments, community adventures and play. We even offer extended hours to accommodate your families work schedule.

Each 1 week session hours 9am-4pm $195, extended hours 8am-5pm additional $40 per week.

All camp courses are subject to change or close due to enrollment.

Hip Hop Music Production (Mr. Robert)
Students will learn how to create music utilizing music production software; Each student will learn how to utilize instruments, beats, tempo, etc and create a unique musical beat.


Grassology (Ms. McGreevy)
Snot, Worms, Pellets, Oh My! Discover the science behind some of the grossest things in the world. Dive into the middle of an owl pellet, investigate the insides of a squid, make your own snot, and even explore the realms of the digestive system, all while making “poop” cookies. This camp is sure to spark the scientist in everyone!


Cardboard Regatta (Ms. McGreevy)
Beat the summer heat by participating in the cardboard regatta! Spend a week planning, building, and decorating a life-sized rowboat made entirely of duct tape and cardboard. End the experience with a ferry ride to Coronado to test and race your boat in the bay! Will your design stay afloat?


Culinary (Ms. McGreevy)
Students embark on a culinary adventure as they learn a recipe for every occasion- snack, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert! Students will plan a menu and take a trip to local grocery stores to purchase their ingredients. Students often take home a sampling of the meals they create as well as a collection of the recipes they have prepared. No kitchen experience necessary – only a love of food and a healthy appetite.


Yoga and Mindfulness (Ms. Morgan)
Young chefs will learn tips and tricks in the kitchen from our Urban Sol Top Chefs on how to create their own delicious tasty, desserts. They will explore and create an array of traditional and unique dessserts they will be able to eat each day. At the end of the week our Young Chefs will be able to compete in Urban Sol's Top Chef Desserts competition that will be judged by a panel of sweet tooth experts from Candyland.


Cardboard Builders Camp (Ms. Joelle)
Ever want to make your own robot? fort? city?!? The sky's the limit in the Cardboard Builders Club. We'll Use recyclable materials to make your dreams come to reality. You'll never look at a box the same way again!


Desirable Desserts (Mr. C)
Young chefs will learn tips and tricks in the kitchen from our Urban Sol Top Chefs on how to create their own delicious tasty, desserts. They will explore and create an array of traditional and unique dessserts they will be able to eat each day. Zombie Apocalypse Survival Camp (Ms. Joelle)
What's that?!? On no, you've been placed in a world where zombies are taking over! How will you and your group survive? Learn survival skills like morse code, solar oven cooking, fort building, navigation, knots, and team building. Only your wits, inventiveness, and cooperation skills will get you through the next night without getting your brains eaten. Will you make it?


Turntablism (Mr. C)
Young turntablist's will learn the history and artform behind one of the four elements of Hip-Hop- DJ'ing. Campers will take steps to master scratching and mixing technics utilizing turntables and a mixer. So, get ready to get the party started with two turntables and mixer.


LEGOS (Ms. McGreevy)
Come and let your imagination soar to new heights! Campers will design, create and build creations out of Legos. See if you can build skyscrapers, motorized robots, roller coasters and so much more!


Urban Explorers (Mr. Dunlap)
Urban Explorers campers will do just that -- explore our urban environment! Campers will travel to various natural settings around the city, such as Balboa Park and the San Diego Waterfront, then take what they’ve seen and observed as the inspiration for various large-scale art projects. They’ll also be plenty of time for outdoor play and recreation, community building, and exploration.


Jewel Your Heart Out (Mr. C)
Come join us this summer and learn how to make your own summer bling using beads, gems, stones, etc.


Summertime STEM (Ms. Joelle)
Caution: you may get wet! Get engaged with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math in the Summer Sun. Activities include: Epic Bottle Rockets, Ice Cream in a Bag, PVC Water Physics, Ice Excavations and more!

Flag Football-7 on 7 Camp (Mr. Dunlap)
"Urban Sol Flag Football Camp sessions are week-long, non-contact camps, which will run from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Every football player needs to know the basic fundamentals and skills to play the game. At Urban Sol Camps, athletes will learn the fundamentals of football, while competing in a fun, safe, non-contact environment.Camp Fundamentals include:

  • Receiving - proper catching mechanics, and route running skills
  • Ball Carrying - ball security, run and escape moves, and handoff mechanics
  • Passing - stance, grip, targeting, and different trajectory passes
  • Defensive skills - Tracking ball carriers, coverage skills, flag pulling
  • Age-appropriate passing concepts
  • Age-appropriate defensive coverages (Man and Zone Concepts) "

Anime (Mr. Justin)
Students will explore various Japanese-Animated cartoons and its culture through the lens of video, art, and technology. We will examine respective underlying themes and how the creators' common messages of hope and resilience can translate into our daily lives.


Dance and Creative Movement (Ms. Morgan)
There's a dancer in everyone! Students will learn to how to express themselves through the art of movement by collaborating with others. We will cover basic dance skills and terminology to help students find their own groove!


Spy Camp (Ms. Joelle)
Enter the world of espionage. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to learn the intricate tactics of the modern spy. Secret codes, special equipment, crime scene investigation become your tools if you choose the life of the secret agent. Operatives needed. This message will self-destruct in 30 seconds . . .


Videogames (Mr. Eric)
Video games are becoming an extraciricular activity at schools with some schools having teams and colleges giving out scholarships. We will keep track of the trends that the games go through and learn the history and future of games and programming. We will play games, watch documentaries, movies, videos and read literature about games.


Hair Braiding (Ms. Deidra)
Students will learn the step by step process to create a handful of popular cornrows, single braids and design braids. There will be a video demonstration followed by one on one gudiance. Practice on a mannequin head or on each other, either way plan to show off your new braids.
